Established in 2000 this firm has grown from independent agronomic services to now include a full suite of agronomic and financial services.

John Minogue

John is a principal of Agricultural & General Consulting Pty Ltd, leveraging over 30 years of experience in broadacre farming, agronomy and business management. John holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Charles Sturt University and is also a qualified workplace trainer and assessor, further enhancing his ability to mentor and guide others in the industry.

Throughout his career, John has built a diverse and rich background in corporate agriculture, retail agronomy and rural financial counselling. His expertise spans both the technical and practical sides of farming, allowing him to offer comprehensive solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client. Whether working with large-scale agricultural operations or small, family-owned farms, John’s focus is always on sustainable practices that drive profitability and long-term success.

John has made significant contributions to the agricultural sector including serving as the Deputy Chair of the Lachlan Catchment Management Authority, where he played an instrumental role in shaping land management policies. He is currently an Executive Councillor for the NSW Farmers’ Association, where he brings his expertise to agricultural policy and advocacy.

For 12 years, John served as a member and Chair of the Northern Panel for the Grains Research and Development Corporation, where he worked on advancing research and development in the grains sector. In addition, John is currently involved in the Grains Market Access Committee of Grains Australia, where he focuses on improving market access and ensuring the long-term competitiveness of Australian grains.

A highly respected figure in the agricultural community, John is passionate about driving innovation, supporting sustainable farming practices, and contributing to the future of Australian agriculture.

Conor Minogue

Conor is an accomplished agronomist with a Bachelor’s degree in Rural Science from the University of New England. Since then, he has rapidly established himself as a valuable asset in the agricultural industry. With hands-on experience as an agronomist at AGnVET, Conor has developed expertise in crop management, soil health, and precision agriculture techniques. Conor has since joined Ag & General Consulting as a key principal, where he continues to apply his knowledge to support clients in maximising farm productivity and sustainability.

In addition to his agronomy background, Conor is a qualified remote aircraft pilot, enhancing his ability to incorporate innovative aerial technologies into farm management practices. Conor’s diverse skill set also includes being a member of Crop Consultants Australia, which allows him to stay at the forefront of industry trends and best practices.

Conor’s passion lies in leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as drone imaging, data analysis, and precision farming tools, to optimise farming operations and improve long-term sustainability. With a strong focus on practical solutions, Conor works closely with farmers to address challenges, improve crop yields, and implement strategies for efficient resource use.

Lisa Minogue

Lisa joined John at Agricultural & General Consulting Pty Ltd after considerable time spent as a rural financial counsellor.  Lisa has a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics from the University of New England as well as Diplomas in Community Services (Financial Counselling) and Community Welfare Work.  She is also a qualified workplace trainer. Additionally, Lisa is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Lisa has a particular interest in working with clients to improve their whole farm profitability; bank negotiations and finance applications; farm debt mediations; and assistance through numerous government agencies.

With a diverse background in agribusiness, Lisa has previously served on the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW, where she contributed to the finance and complaints committees. Having been a director of NSW Farmers’ Association, Lisa is now an Executive Councillor of the Association.

Lisa currently sits as a director on the boards of the National Farmers Federation, Australian Farmers Shared Services and Australian Farmers. Lisa also currently represents the Bland Shire as Deputy Mayor.
